We are looking for a Project Accountant to join and lead one of our prestigious client’s Finance team in Islamabad. You will contribute work towards the day-to-day accounting function for one construction project, ensuring GL transactions are recorded accurately as well as assisting with tax matters, audits, and the project costing at the year-end financial accounts.
ACCA/M.Com qualified (or other similar qualifications)
Certification or working knowledge of Xero and preferably QuickBooks.
Working knowledge of Construction projects is desirable.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
· Day to day Project construction Bookkeeping
· Inventory control and Petty cash Transactions
· Bank Account Maintenace and reconciliation on monthly basis.
· Preparation of journal entries and complete general ledger operations
· Preparation of monthly closings and financial statements
· Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
· Assist with drawing up monthly financial reports
· Assist with year-end closings
· Prepare tax computations and returns
· Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts and financial dashboards
· Assist with payroll administration for Islamabad team
· Initiate the bank transfers / prepare payments for approval and release
· Coordinate, with HR, regular contributions to Provident Fund and EOBI
· Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
· Perform Account/bank reconciliations
· Review and process expense reports
· Assist with preparation and coordination of the annual audit process for WIP and WC
· Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
· Protect the company’s value by keeping information confidential
Education and Experience
· Preferably ACCA/M.Com
· Minimum of 3 years of work experience
· Sound knowledge of IFRS
· Knowledge of applicable laws including tax laws in Pakistan
· Proficient in Microsoft office, particularly Excel
· Proficiency in relevant accounting software QBO
· Knowledge of other relevant accounting software
· Accounting experience in Construction industry would be an added advantage
